Home Repair On Crack

Yesterday we tackled the cracks in the wall before we started moving, particularly the big one right in front when you walk in the door. We sanded down, in total, about 6 cracks in the plaster.

Amazingly enough, even though we know the crack has been there for 20 years, no one has had the foresight to use drywall tape on it. Just layers and layers of spackle.

Which Jason chiseled out and started over again, this time with drywall tape mesh.

Each side of the crack was at a different depth, so it took a good deal of sanding.

And frequently checking for level.

And then it was on to pain--moving the basement, which involved loading and unloading about 2 tons of shop equipment from our old basement to the new one.
