Sorry about the down time from posting, but we've got some results for it. I worked Like a dog and got the kitchen to a functional state for Shan's Birthday. Below are some pics of the kitchen from start to where we are now. All thats left in the kitchen is a couple of custom cabinets that I need to make and the toe kicks and trim. Until then the kitchen is open for home cookin' and looks pretty good too! Here is what it looked like originally:

After the start of demolition:

Demolition complete with electrical work done:

Instaltion of the cabinet casings:

After the installation of the doors and countertopand plumbing:

This is where it is at now:

This is our slide out pantry cupbaord which is a great space saver and also very convenient:

Here you can see the two holes where I still need to build in cabinets. The wall cabinet will be a wine rack, while the lower will house a swing down trash can.

  1. Wow! That is awesome! The kitchen looks fantastic! Thanks for the pictures...it's great to finally see it. You have done an absolutely great job. You must love every minute of being in the kitchen now! Did you have to stain the cupboards? They really look nice. I love the rounded corners with the shelves. What a difference from the "before" to the "after"! Great job! Mom

  2. this looks really good. great idea for the wine rack (i'm guessing that it's that small space in the corner of the cabinets?) andy told me that every dollar spent on upgrading a kitchen means double for the resale value.

there is one thing missing though....perhaps a churrascaria rotisserie?
